Like it or not, running is a part of everyone's life. You jog, you play sports, you gym, and even when you're chasing that cab/bus/mailman or rushing to the toilet to pee - you're would indirectly do a little run at the very least. However good running could be for your fitness and health, it could also be detrimental especially in the long-run for your bones and joints if you're not properly geared for it.
I have a pet peeve of wearing the right things for the right ocassions, thus if I'm not in proper running shoes there's a chance you won't see me running. It all started in college when I thought I could run in my heels - and boy, I did give Usain Bolt a run for his money... in heels. That was a joke, in case if you thought I was serious.
So here's my post today, to admit that I haven't been running in ages since I injured my kneecap. Long story short, it moves sideways and gets locked in instead of the muscles pulling it up and down, the normal way. I get "cramps" on my knees sometimes, therefore if you have noticed from my outfit posts you will see that I haven't been wearing heels in a very long time. It's not that I can't, but I don't want to further damage what's already broken.
I used to be much fitter in college - played futsal and ultimate frisbee but now I feel like a blob on the inside, despite my tiny figure. Adidas, however, seems to be turning it around. I now found perfect attire to start being active again (which I am very anal with cause I don't want to be wearing non-sports items for sports which could lead to worse injuries) by giving me a pair of this new #BOOST running shoes. Truth to be told, this is my first pair of REAL running shoes ever and having the best in the market tops it all off.
adidas BOOST is said to change your running experience forever as they introduce a revolutionary cushioning innovation with this pair of shoes called Energy Running - it provides the highest energy return in the industry.
The foundation of BOOST lies on its cushioning material - a groundbreaking development of a material that makes up the shoes' midsole (the foam-like area). Due to their unique cell structure, these capsules store and unleash energy more effectively with every stride. It is much more consistent and gives a better boost of energy than the EVA foam that is commonly used in most running shoes as it is more temperature resistance.
Apart from the midsole, the upper part of this Energy Boost features adidas' very own Techfit technology of highly durable and elastic polyurethane, providing optimal comfort and support while you run. Even the material and stretch of the shoe fits like a sock, and no irritation is expected as the inner upper part is free from any distinctive stitches (which I hate in most shoes).
The Energy Boost retails at RM550 for both men and women and will be available (in very limited quantities) at the adidas Sports Performance Concept Stores in Suria KLCC (Level 3) and Sunway Pyramid (Level 2).
If you'd like to get your hands on a pair before it runs out, you can now pre-order your own pair of Energy Boost at
from now til 24th February 2013.
Just some of my instagram photos from my recent adidas NEO trip in New York featuring their latest ambassador, Selena Gomez. Will update with more photos and stories soon!
I'm not sure which part of the world are you living in but if you haven't already found out about this, I guess you're pretty much missing out on some good flesh action by David Beckham. Beckham's following the footsteps of fashionista wifey by launching a line of bodywear along with H&M and I can understand why there were tons of swooning and girls going hysterical in front of their computer and smartphone screens when the campaign video was released.
This catchy video, directed by one of my favorites - Guy Ritchie was nothing short of entertaining. Poking fun of the Hollywood obsession with celebrities, the video showcased an almost nude Beckham running around the Hills in all kinds of situations, all in the name of getting back his bathrobe. I wasn't a fan of him, but I don't mind fangirling on his toned and lean torso now.
The Bodyline offers a new range of colors that echo the superhero theme with navy, red and utility green and is available at a H&M store near you.
I've been going through my blog draft lately after stumbling upon a few posts that was halfway done but never published for God knows what reason. Probably work was more important at the time thus I always ended up adding more posts without realizing the amount of drafts I've accumulated over the months. I know some have been yonks ago but as memory's sake, I might just post them up. It might be useful, someday.
Sometime last year, I received a lovely email from Jeffrey, a reader and acquaintance, to appear on Harper's Bazaar cause he works there and I would be silly to not say yes. After exchanging a few emails, a date was set and the location was confirmed. I didn't know what to expect but I was told to just dress as my usual self, and my usual self came in a top, jeans and brogues (which I kinda overused at that time). The feature came out a couple of months after which you can view if you scroll to the bottom of this post.
I'm gonna leave you with (crappy) photos that I took with my iPhone, cause I kinda left my camera on that day of the Never Follow Suit store in Bangsar Telawi. Pretty interesting, if you like quirky kind of things. Joe Chia is a lovely lad and together with his model girlfriend, they're like a couple made in fashion heaven. I had my eyes set on a few things, unfortunately they were not for sale =P
Will be updating from New York soon!
