Adidas #boost - A Revolution in Running
10:45 AM
Like it or not, running is a part of everyone's life. You jog, you play sports, you gym, and even when you're chasing that cab/bus/mailman or rushing to the toilet to pee - you're would indirectly do a little run at the very least. However good running could be for your fitness and health, it could also be detrimental especially in the long-run for your bones and joints if you're not properly geared for it.
I have a pet peeve of wearing the right things for the right ocassions, thus if I'm not in proper running shoes there's a chance you won't see me running. It all started in college when I thought I could run in my heels - and boy, I did give Usain Bolt a run for his money... in heels. That was a joke, in case if you thought I was serious.
So here's my post today, to admit that I haven't been running in ages since I injured my kneecap. Long story short, it moves sideways and gets locked in instead of the muscles pulling it up and down, the normal way. I get "cramps" on my knees sometimes, therefore if you have noticed from my outfit posts you will see that I haven't been wearing heels in a very long time. It's not that I can't, but I don't want to further damage what's already broken.
I used to be much fitter in college - played futsal and ultimate frisbee but now I feel like a blob on the inside, despite my tiny figure. Adidas, however, seems to be turning it around. I now found perfect attire to start being active again (which I am very anal with cause I don't want to be wearing non-sports items for sports which could lead to worse injuries) by giving me a pair of this new #BOOST running shoes. Truth to be told, this is my first pair of REAL running shoes ever and having the best in the market tops it all off.
adidas BOOST is said to change your running experience forever as they introduce a revolutionary cushioning innovation with this pair of shoes called Energy Running - it provides the highest energy return in the industry.
The foundation of BOOST lies on its cushioning material - a groundbreaking development of a material that makes up the shoes' midsole (the foam-like area). Due to their unique cell structure, these capsules store and unleash energy more effectively with every stride. It is much more consistent and gives a better boost of energy than the EVA foam that is commonly used in most running shoes as it is more temperature resistance.
Apart from the midsole, the upper part of this Energy Boost features adidas' very own Techfit technology of highly durable and elastic polyurethane, providing optimal comfort and support while you run. Even the material and stretch of the shoe fits like a sock, and no irritation is expected as the inner upper part is free from any distinctive stitches (which I hate in most shoes).
The Energy Boost retails at RM550 for both men and women and will be available (in very limited quantities) at the adidas Sports Performance Concept Stores in Suria KLCC (Level 3) and Sunway Pyramid (Level 2).
If you'd like to get your hands on a pair before it runs out, you can now pre-order your own pair of Energy Boost at
from now til 24th February 2013.
